GK Design Ltd. was formed in 2003 by Gillian Kirkby, a professional interior decorator and designer and former director of the Canadian Decorators' Association (CDECA). Located in Westside Vancouver, GK Design Ltd. offers services throughout the Lower Mainland and Galiano Island.

Gillian moved from a career in I.T. to train as a decorator and fulfil her dream of working to create beautiful homes. Having lived through several home renovations, she has a good deal of hands-on experience, particularly in painting and faux finishes, making window coverings, designing furniture, and building custom stained glass panels for kitchen and bathroom cabinets.

The stained glass vine design in the 2009 PNE Prize Home is one of Gillian’s favourite stained glass projects. There are approximately 240 hand cut pieces of glass in the six doors.

Gillian likes working to make people’s spaces unique and to reflect their personality. Her custom stained glass work in kitchens and bathrooms provides an opportunity for clients to enjoy functional art in those spaces.
